To enhance the transmission reception performance when a portable communication equipment is in close contact with a human body at a speech and in a standby state without deteriorating the performance of the single body by making a phase of a current on an antenna element same as that of and image current produced in the human body in the portable communication equipment provided with a linear antenna that copes with a vertically polarized wave.
In the portable communication equipment that uses a vertically polarized wave with a linear antenna 10 nearly in parallel with a face of an enclosure opposite to a human body at a speech or in the case of carrying, a part of an element corresponding to a loop of a current flowing to the linear antenna 10 is placed nearly perpendicular to the face of the enclosure opposite to the human body. The linear antenna 10 adopts center feeding and is a dipole antenna 1/2 λ in length, the length of the element 12 above a feeding section 11 is reduced in a form of a helical coil, and an element 13 about 1/32 λ in length from the feeding section 11 and an element 15 about 1/32 λ in length from an element 14 apart by about 1/16 λ nearly in parallel with the face of the enclosure opposite to the human body are placed nearly perpendicularly to the face of the enclosure opposite to the human body.
