This portable communication terminal comprises a directional output function, an ordinary output function, and a control unit 120. The directional output function is a function for transmitting voice only to a user. The ordinary output function is a function for outputting audible sound without modifying it. The control unit 120 selects either the directional output or ordinary output function and enables it. In an embodiment, a speaker 220 functions as an ordinary speaker for outputting an audible sound without modifying it and also as a parametric speaker. In other words, the speaker 220 has both the directional output function and the ordinary output function.
