To provide a portable cutter excellent in workability during cutting depth adjustment.
A housing 2 includes a motor housing rotatably supported on the upper surface of a roughly rectangular base 6. The housing 2 includes a roughly disk-like rotary blade 3 driven to be rotated by a motor and having its protrusion amount from the lower surface of the base changed according to the rotational amount of the housing 2. The housing 2 includes an instruction elongation member 44 having one end rotatably supported on the housing 2, the other end brought into contact with the upper surface side of the base 6, and the other end on the base 6 moved in association with the protrusion amount of the rotary blade 3 from the lower surface of the base 6. The other end on the base 6 indicates an intersection point between the base 6 and the tip of the rotary blade 3. An indicator part 44A is provided in the other end of the instruction member 44. The indicator part 44A indicates a scale 63 provided on the upper surface of the base 6. This numerical value coincides with the protrusion amount of the rotary blade 3 from the lower surface of the base 6.
