An operating handle 4 is arranged in parallel with the cutting direction of the saw blade 1 above a cutter body 3 in which the saw blade 1, a saw cover 14 and a saw blade driving motor 2 are arranged side by side on a surface plate 6, a battery pack 5 for driving the motor is arranged detachably below the handle 4, the surface plate 6 placed on a material to be cut and a cutting depth adjusting mechanism adjusting the protruding amount of the saw blade 1 from the lower surface of the surface plate 6 are arranged at the lower part of the cutter body 3, the battery pack 5 is arranged in a position near the motor 2 and offset to the opposite side of the saw blade 1 from the center of the handle 4, and an adjusting lever 27 of the cutting depth adjusting mechanism is disposed in the space between the battery pack 5 and the saw cover 14.
