To provide a portable cutting machine capable of securing a space surrounding a little finger of a hand gripping a grip, even when the grip is not provided on a high position.SOLUTION: A portable cutting machine includes a battery installation part 20 to/from which a battery pack 40 is attachable/detachable. The battery installation part 20 includes a connection terminal 25a for connecting electrically the battery pack 40 therethrough, and is arranged on the rear of the battery pack 40, when viewing the battery pack 40 in the attached state in a cutting direction D1 of a material to be cut.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
