To provide a portable cutting tool capable of preventing illumination deterioration around a cutting blade owing to sticking of dust without increasing the cost by adding other parts.
In the portable cutting tool 1 in which the cutting blade 4 is driven using a motor as a driving source, the periphery of the cutting blade 4 is covered by a dust cover 14, and a light 17 is provided for irradiating light in the vicinity of the cutting blade 4, the dust cover 14 is constituted of a transparent resin and the vicinity of the cutting tool 4 is illuminated by taking the light irradiated from the light 17 into the resin of the dust cover 14 and transmitting the same. Further, the dust cover 14 is constituted to a right-and-left dual-partitioned structure and the light 17 is arranged on the partitioned face. Furthermore, a rib 14a for taking the light irradiated from the light 17 into the resin of the dust cover 14 is formed along the irradiation direction of the light in the site below the light 17 of the dust cover 14.
