Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electric cutter which can facilitate the checking of a cutting edge of a saw blade so as to enhance workability, by scattering chips on a chipped material by means of a fan wind, without causing a decrease in the strength of a base.
SOLUTION: This portable electric cutter is equipped with: a housing 3 for housing an electric motor for rotatively driving the saw blade; a saw cover 4 which is attached to the housing 3, which has a shape covering an approximate upside half of the outer periphery of the saw blade, and which has a saw-blade storage part for housing a part of the saw blade; a base 5 wherein an opening for protruding the saw blade downward from a bottom surface slidable on a cutting material is formed; and the fan which is provided in the housing 3 and which is rotatively driven by the electric motor. An exhaust passage for exhausting the fan wind generated by the rotative drive of the fan is formed along the outer periphery of the saw cover 4, and the fan wind 9 is exhausted toward the cutting-direction front side of the base 5, through the exhaust passage.
