To provide a portable electric cutting machine for improving operability by facilitating verification of a blade tip of a saw blade by scattering cutting chips on a cut material by using fan wind.

The portable electric cutting machine is equipped with: a housing 3 for housing an electric motor 2; a saw cover 4 for partially housing the saw blade 1 driven by the electric motor; a base 5 having an opening to allow the saw blade to project downward from a bottom face which is slidable on the cut material; a fan 7 provided in the housing 3 and generating the fan wind by being rotated and driven by the electric motor; a guide part 10 provided on a front side in a base cutting direction and for instructing a blade tip position of the saw blade; and a discharge passage forming member 11 attached to the saw cover. The fan wind is discharged into the saw cover, and onto the cut material and guide part on the front side in the base cutting direction through the discharge passage forming member along the outer side of the saw cover.
