PURPOSE: To make it possible to easily open the paper-feeding passage of a paper-feeding mechanism on such an occasion as to take a step to straighten out jamming of papers, etc., by releasing the papers from a printer's paper-feeding mechanism by turning loose the joining between two cases.

CONSTITUTION: Jamming of papers, etc. is eliminated by taking such steps as to turn loose the joining between a top case 101 and a bottom case 102 of a printer 130 so that they become in positions as indicated by two chain lines, turn a releasing layer 116 around a shaft 115 in the direction of an arrow F, push by the other end 116b of a lever 116 a projection 111c provided on a paper-holding lever 111, turn the lever 111 in the direction of an arrow G centering around a shaft 113 and provide a gap between a paper-holding roller 112 and a paper- feeding roller 105 to release the paper passage. And then, setting of papers 104 is completed by taking such steps as to release the lever 116, put pressure back on between the roller 105 and the roller 112, join the cases 105 and 112 again and turn the roller 105 to eliminate slack from the papers 104.
