Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an antenna system for the portable electronic device which has improved performance without requiring an external antenna specially. CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with two antennas and a 1st antenna is mounted on a flap 2 and equipped with a ground surface 5 and a monopole 4 which is fed by a coaxial cable 6 from an electronic circuit in the main section of a handset 1. The flap is connected rotatably to the main section of a housing 1 and folded in the main section when not used. The other similar antenna is adapted to the main section and both the antennas are connected to a tranceiver circuit through the same node. The two antennas are so designed as to adopt intentional mismatching so that an effective switching system is obtained between the two antennas without requiring any extra circuit element.
