To provide portable electronic equipment in which electromagnetic waves for transmitting and receiving information have a less effect on a human body.

There is provided the portable electronic equipment for transmitting and receiving information between itself and a communicating partner by using the electromagnetic waves. The portable electronic equipment includes: a receiving means (a transmitting and receiving circuit 20) for receiving the electromagnetic waves transmitted from the communicating partner; a transmitting means (a transmitting and receiving circuit 20) for transmitting the electromagnetic waves to the communicating partner; a setting means (a control circuit 30) for setting transmitting electric power of the electromagnetic waves transmitted by the transmitting means depending on a receiving sensitivity of the receiving means; and a regulating means (a control circuit 30) for regulating characteristics of the electromagnetic waves output from an antenna when the transmitting electric power has been set by the setting means.
