To very quickly and easily perform a grooving work at an actual place by fastening a temporary shaft on the receiving end part of a roll shaft on which a motor is mounted with a bolt, together with a temporary frame, and fitting a large spur gear of a cutting tool holder into the temporary shaft.
A grooving working is performed in a state that a roll is removed and is temporarily placed in the vicinity or the roll is hung by a chain block, etc. A roll is removed, a bearing is disassembled, and a temporary shaft 1, a large spur gear 2 and a frame 4 are fastened together with a bolt. A cutting tool 10 is fixed by aligning the cutting tool 10 to a location to be put in a groove by a positioning knob 8. When a motor 5 is revolved, upper and lower screws 13 are hit on a kick plate 6 and the cutting tool 10 is automatically fed for every revolution. The cutting tool 10 is revolved, remaining the roll fixed, and the groove can be shaved.
