To provide a portable lighting device, compact and capable of responding sufficiently to needs of a variety of usage modes.
The portable lighting device is composed of a main body substrate 2 and two pieces of lighting units which are installed around the axial center of a pivot 3 installed concentrically on both sides of the main body substrate 2. The lighting unit 4 consists of a rotating substrate 5 installed rotatably on a pivot 3 of the main body substrate 2, an illumination lamp 6 consisting of a light-emitting diode which is installed at the peripheral part of the rotating substrate 5 so that the optical axis may be oriented in a centrifugal direction of the pivot 3, a power supply battery for a lamp consisting of a button battery which is installed on a plate surface of the rotating substrate 5, and a cover 9 which is installed detachably on the rotating substrate 5 and has a lighting on-and-off operating switch 8 of the illumination lamp.
