Title:
WHOLE BLOOD ANALYSIS ELEMENT AND MEASURING METHOD USING IT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3147565
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make biochemical inspection possible, taking very small quantity several 10μl whole blood as a tested body by providing a whole blood analysis element and a measuring method using it, by which nonuniformity of penetration and diffusion caused at the time of separating blood corpuscle is prevented by a simple means and an analysis error caused by fluctuation in the supply quantity of whole blood sample and hematocrit value is eliminated.
CONSTITUTION: A substantially continuous curve or straight line fusing groove is formed on a porous blood corpuscle separation element having thermoplasticity, and a porous layer is disposed below a blood corpuscle separation element where the capacity of the part surrounded by the curve or straight line is smaller than the penetration and diffusion limit range of whole blood sample supplied in the part. The whole blood analysis element does not include a measurement reagent. The whole blood sample is supplied to the whole blood analysis element, and after the blood plasma part of the sample is penetrated and diffused in the porous layer, the blood corpuscle separation element is removed. After that, a fixed quantity of measurement reagent is supplied to the porous layer to measure a tested material.
