The portable power cutter has a lighting unit for lighting a cutting edge thereof, at which a saw blade makes contact with a workpiece material. The lighting unit consists of first and second light emitting diodes which are arranged on the cutter side by side in a lateral direction as viewed from the side of the cutter, in a manner being inclined by a predetermined angle toward the cutting edge.
