To provide a portable power tool capable of performing various kinds of works by being held by hands of a worker as one usable in also a work in the water, and to inexpensively and easily provide also a portable power tool having no special waterproof structure made usable in the water.

This portable power tool has a portable power tool main body 2 provided with a body of equipment 6 which can be held by hands, a battery 7 arranged in the body of equipment 6, a tool part 11 exposed to the outside from the body of equipment 6 and a driving part 8 for driving the tool part 11 by the battery 7, a resin waterproof cover 3 for exposing the tool part 11 to the outside through an opening part 4 and covering the whole of the body of equipment 6 of the portable power tool main body 2, and a gas discharge means 5 for discharging gas from the inside to the outside of the waterproof cover 3 through the opening part 4.
