To provide portable radio equipment capable of matching impedances between an antenna and other circuits even though the impedance of the antenna changes.
This portable radio equipment comprising a first casing part and a second casing part, having a casing structure wherein their positional relations are changeable to each other between a first state and a second state and provided with an antenna on either the first casing part or the second casing part, has a casing state detecting means (a casing state decision SW 6) for detecting whether the first and second casing parts are in the first state or the second state, a plurality of matching means (matching circuits 3 and 4) used to match the antenna and another circuit, and switching means (switches 2-1 and 2-2) for connecting one of the plurality of matching means to the antenna and the other circuit on the basis of detection results of the casing state detecting means.
