Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste collection and disposal system used in a medical facility.SOLUTION: A system 100 includes a movable waste collection unit 102 that is moved between use areas of a medical facility for collecting waste materials including body fluid, a body tissue, physiological saline, etc. generated during medical procedures. The waste collection unit includes an upper side waste container and a lower side waste container stacked for receiving the waste materials, the upper side waste container being capable of discharging the waste materials to the lower side waste container for temporary storage. During combined procedures, independently-controlled vacuum levels can be provided in the waste containers. If a user desires to empty the waste collection unit, the waste collection unit is moved to a docking station 104. In the docking station, the waste materials are discharged to a waste drain, and the waste collection unit is cleaned and rinsed for future use.
