To make the full use of the performance of a secondary battery 11 in a small-sized electrical apparatus 4, such as a cellular phone, using the secondary battery 11 as a drive power supply and reluctant of contingencies, such as interruption of power supply during the use, when a function of the electrical apparatus 4, such as downloading of data for which interruption is undesired, is used.
The electrical apparatus is provided with a battery capacity detecting means 2 for grasping the present capacity of the secondary battery 11 in real time. In addition, the apparatus is provided with a calculation means 8 which calculates a time for which the apparatus can be used with the present remaining capacity for each function of the apparatus and with a displaying means 4 which displays the result of the calculation using characters and sound.
