Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a portable steel bar cutter capable of easily and quickly retracting its cutting edge by manual operation at an crisis or in an emergency with out disassembling a cylinder device.
CONSTITUTION: An electrically powered motor 3 as a driving source, a pump part 4 connected to the electrically powered motor 3, and a hydraulic cylinder 5 connected to the pump part 4 are provided. The hydraulic cylinder 5 is provided with a piston 51 and oil pressure chambers 52, 53 respectively confined to both sides of the piston. Further, a forced release oil path extending in parallel with a bypass oil path 56, and a manually operated release valve are provided. The manually operated release valve can connect the oil pressure chamber 52 and the oil pressure chamber 53 to each other through the forced release oil path. The manually operated release valve is projected slightly from the outer surface of a cylinder case 50, and is provided with a tool engaging groove capable of receiving a tool such as a screw driver, or an operating means for the outer peripheral parts of coins.
