Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set whose reception sound is clear by fitting a display area, a sound source area and an operation area to a casing or a cover part so that a state where the areas overlap with one of the other areas or a state where they do not overlap with any other area can be switched.
SOLUTION: One area of an area having a display part 4, a sound source area having a hands-free speaker 8 and an operation area where a plurality of operation keys 1 are arranged is provided to a casing 1 or a cover part 7 covering the casing 1 so that a state where one area overlaps with one of the other areas and a sate where one area does not overlap with any other area can be switched. To put it concretely, the hands-free speaker 8 is installed in the cover part 7 covering the operation key 11 and the hands-free speaker 8 is so disposed that it is positioned on the front face of the housing 1 when the cover part 7 covers the operation key 11. When reception sound is reproduced by the hands-free speaker 8, sound is outputted to a direction where the ear of a call receiver is usually positioned in a hands-free state.
