Abstract:

To eliminate the need of a jack terminal when a stereo signals are externally recorded in a portable telephone which can reproduce the recorded stereo signals and output the signals to a headphone.

The portable telephone comprises switches SW3, SW4 for selecting one of a reproducing route for displaying a route for outputting reproduced analog stereo signals to a jack terminal 18 and recording route for displaying a route for outputting the analog stereo signals input from the jack terminal as a recording signal to a memory 14 side. A controller 11 switches the switches SW3, W4 to amplifiers 19B, 19C sides at a recording time, and switches to amplifiers 10E, 10F sides at a reproducing time. Thus, one jack terminal can be used at both recording and reproducing times. Accordingly, since it is not necessary to provide a new jack terminal as for recording, the telephone can be prevented from being increased in size.
