To provide a portable terminal device which can reduce a load of a user in an emergency call specifying an emergency telephone number.

The portable terminal device 10 has an emergency call button 13. The portable terminal device 10 is provided with a display unit which displays icons showing categories of a plurality of emergency call destinations on a screen of a display panel 12 when depression of the emergency call button 13 is detected; a selection unit which refers to a memory unit storing the category of the emergency call destination and the telephone number in association with each other when the selection of the icon is detected, and selects the emergency telephone number specifying the selected emergency call destination; and a communication unit which makes a call specifying the emergency telephone number selected by the selection unit.
