To provide a radio communication technique capable of expressing an actual space where a plurality of portable terminal devices are performing communication, in a system in a more actual mode.
The game device performs radio communication with another game device via a first or second transmitting/receiving unit. Switching control is executed so that when a distance to the other game device is smaller than a predetermined value, the first transmitting/receiving unit receives the reception data and when the distance is not smaller than the predetermined value, the second transmitting/receiving unit receives the reception data. When the second transmitting/receiving unit receives the data, a display setting unit determines a display mode of a terminal display object, depending on the distance data of the reception data. An object generating unit generates a terminal display object indicating the other game device when the first transmitting/receiving unit receives the data, and generates a parameter processed terminal display object when the second transmitting/receiving section receives the data. A display unit displays the terminal display object or the parameter processed terminal display object so that a player can visually recognize them.
