Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To withdraw deposit from a financial institution for making a payment from an IC card the balance of which is in short, without depending on an ATM, by connecting the IC card to a portable telephone via an interface and connecting to the financial institution via a center. SOLUTION: A user makes a call to a financial institution from an optional key telephone set and performs a withdrawal operation for his deposit to an IC card 30. Then, the financial institution requests its center to send withdrawal data when user's data is correct, and the center sends a portable terminal a request for withdrawal authorization and data of withdrawal amount. Then the center collate the authorization data sent from the portable terminal with data from the financial institution and sends the portable terminal a write permission for a withdrawal amount, only when the collection is successful. Payment is performed with an interface 21 and an IC card 30, which are provided on the portable terminal by changing the balance of an IC card, even if there is no ATM around when the balance is in short.
