To provide a midget lightweight newspaper binder, with which the central one point on the crease of a space is bound without opening a newspaper.

After the vicinity of the center of the crease of the outermost space of folded up pages is dented with a finger tip or the like, the needle part of the portable type newspaper binder consisting of the needle part provided at the pointed tip of a screw part with a handle part attached thereto is thrusted on the line of a dented crease so as to screw the screw part within the newspaper by turning the handle part after the needle part is pierced to the innermost page of the newspaper in order to bind the newspaper by successively pinching the paper pieces in the peripheries of the holes of the respective space of the newspaper produced by the penetration of the needle part between the thread and valley of the screw part. The portable type newspaper binder has the screw part, which is conical from its base part to its tip part, the tip of which has the needle part. Further, the base part of the screw part is fixed to the tip part of the handle part. When the newspaper is bound, the tip of the needle part is projected beyond the tip of the tip part of the needle part. After the finish of the binding of the newspaper, the tip of the needle part can be housed within the needle part.
