PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for positioning and assembling a micro optical element.SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of determining the position of an optical component to which the end of a needle pin is to be fixed; moving the optical component to near a predetermined position and permanently containing the optical component, using the needle pin; and positioning the optical component to another component, using the needle pin; making the optical component permanently adhere to the predetermined position with an adhesive; and removing the needle pin from the optical component.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
