Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detecting device capable of detecting biaxial movement (rotating movement and stroke movement) of a movable object with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A position detecting device 2 comprises a metal part 7 reciprocating in association with stroke movement of a movable object 1 (metallic rotor 5). A rotating position of the movable object 1 is determined by using outputs of a first specific range detection coil 4a to a third specific range detection coil 4c that vary in accordance with a rotating position of a metallic rotor 5 and based on the combination of the outputs. A stroke position of the movable object 1 is determined by the detection of an inductance change in accordance with a distance between an exciting coil 3 and the metal part 7.
