Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify the method by detecting the distance to the loaded article from the size of an image of a specific mark on the loaded article which is photographed by a camera equipped with a fixed optical system with large depth of field. CONSTITUTION:The camera 2 equipped with the wide-angle image pickup lens with the large depth of field is arranged above loaded articles 1 and the specific mark 10 is provided on the top surface of each loaded article 1. In such a case, an image of loaded articles 1 of the uppermost stage is large, that of a 2nd stage is a little smaller, and an image of a 3rd stage is much small. Namely, the size of an image of the mark 10 of each loaded article 1 in the visual field of the camera 2 varies and the image pickup magnification comes to different. Therefore, the correspondence relation between the size of the image of the mark 10 and the distance from the camera 2 to the loaded article 1 is prepared as a data table by a processor, then the distance from the camera 2 to the loaded article 1 is found from the obtained size of the mark 10 by referring to the data table to find the image pickup magnification.
