Title:
POSITION DETECTOR AND TILT SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3842316
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure an accurate angle of rotation despite the tilt of the surface of revolution by amplifying and operating the signals by means of a tilt sensor and a specific number of magnetic sensors including a correction magnetic sensor.
SOLUTION: The magnetic sensors 1, 2 and 3 detects the magnetic fields of X, Y and Z components, respectively. The outputs of sensors 1 to 3 and a tilt sensor 4 are applied to an amplifier 5 and inputted to an A/D converter 7 through a filter circuit 6. The A/D conversion result is inputted to a microcomputer 8 and operated there. The X and Y magnetic sensors 1 and 2 are contained in a circuit substrate, and the Z magnetic sensor 3 is placed on the surface that is formed by both sensors 1 and 2. The magnetic field surfaces that are measured by the sensors 1 and 2 are defined as the surfaces of revolution, and the sensor 4 is placed vertically to these surfaces of revolution. In such a configuration, a three-dimensional position can be detected in a simple and inexpensive system.
