PURPOSE: To obtain a correct position information of the origin by providing a fixed terminal inside the resistance body of the potentiometer having a rotary shaft connected via the rotary shaft of a rotary encoder and the reduction gear part, and outputting the voltage according to the rotary angle thereof.
CONSTITUTION: The output k of a potentiometer and the output l of from a fixed terminal are compared by the comparator circuit of a rotary encoder and in case of k>l the output, CO is risen. The output l of the position of the fixed terminal when there is no change in the resistance value of the potentiometer is made l' in case of a change being caused in the resistance value and is switched to the output CO in case of the voltage k being made equal to l', so it is always switched at the same rotary angle position. Further from the rising of the output CO the signal for the origin is formed.
