Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily and accurately measure the moving position of a moving body with a high resolving power by providing a sin theta.cos theta proportional signal generator and a moving body position measuring means. CONSTITUTION:An encoder 1 which is the sin theta.cos theta proportional signal generator generates the signal proportional to the sin theta and the signal corresponding to the cos theta in accordance with the moving position theta of the moving body. A single chip microprocessor 2 which is the moving body position measuring means digitizes the two signals proportional to the sin theta and cos theta generated from the encoder 1 and determines the position theta of the moving body by calculating an arc tangent. The measurement of the position of the moving body is possible with the simple constitution and the miniaturization of the instrument and the cost reduction thereof are possible by providing the encoder 1 and the microprocessor 2 in such a manner. The greater part of the processing of the position signals of the encoder 1, etc., is digitally executed and, therefore, the adjustment is facilitated and the reliability is improved.
