To provide a position search method of a long-sized member that can suitably search for the position of the long-sized member arranged on the back surface side of the surface member.SOLUTION: In the floor of the building, a plurality of floor beams 26 are provided side by side at predetermined intervals on the back surface side of a floor member 28. When searching for the position of the floor beam 26 from the surface side of the floor member 28, a search tool 30 is used. The search tool 30 has a diaphragm 32 that resonates when a vibration having the same frequency as the natural frequency of an overlapping portion 28a overlapping the floor beam 26 is applied to the floor member 28. When searching for the position of the floor beam 26, the search tool 30 is arranged on the surface of the floor surface material 28, and in the arranged state, an impact is applied to the floor surface material 28 to cause vibration in the floor surface member 28. Then, it is confirmed whether or not the diaphragm 32 of the search tool 30 arranged on the floor surface member 28 resonates due to the vibration generated on the floor surface member 28. As a result, when the resonance of the diaphragm 32 is confirmed, the position of the floor beam 26 is searched based on the position of the search tool 30 on the floor surface member 28.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
