Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position sensor configured to improve light propagation efficiency.SOLUTION: A position sensor includes: a substantially quadrangle sheet-like optical waveguide W having a sheet-like core pattern member comprising a grid-like section 2A formed of a plurality of linear cores 2 and a circumferential section 2B extended from the cores 2 in the grid-like section 2A and arranged along a circumference of the grid-like section 2A; two light-emitting elements 4; and two light-receiving elements 5. One and the other end faces of the core 2 of the circumferential section 2B extended from a vertical core 2 of the grid-like section 2A and one and the other end faces of the circumferential section 2B extended from a lateral core 2 of the grid-like section 2A are positioned at different corner sections of a quadrangle of the substantially quadrangle sheet-like optical waveguide W. One light-emitting element 4 is connected to each of the above two one end faces of the cores 2 in the circumferential section 2B. One light-receiving element 5 is connected to each of the above two other end faces of the cores 2 in the circumferential section 2B.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
