Abstract:
The sensor has at least two sensor units (1,2) which measure without contact and provide sensor signals (U1,U2) which are similar, mutually phase-displaced functions of the position to be measured relative to a moving element and a phase detection unit (12) generating a sensor position signal (UW) as a measure of the position. A combination circuit (4) controlled by a clock signal (UT1,UT2) generates a measurement signal (UM) from the sensor signals. The measurement signal corresponds to a cyclic sequence of the sensor signals with alternating polarity after each cycle. The phase detection unit forms the position signal by measuring the phase difference between the clock signal and the measurement signal.
