To provide a positional information management system capable of acquiring the information associated with a moving object by utilizing a radio communication to specify the positional information of the moving object such as a vehicle.
The system includes: beacon transmitters 20 which are multiple beacon transmitters for radio-transmitting beacon signals containing identification information of an own machine, arranged by being distributed in areas to be managed so that output ranges of adjacent beacon transmitters and the beacon signals are partially overlapped; terminal devices 30 which are the terminal devices to be mounted on the moving objects, for receiving the beacon signals to extract the identification information from the received each beacon signal and for measuring a reception signal intensity of each beacon signal to radio-transmit the terminal signals associating the identification information of the obtained beacon signal and the intensity of the reception signal with the identification information of the own machine; and a main device 40 for specifying positions of the terminal devices based on the identification information of the terminal device contained in the received terminal signals and the identification information of the beacon transmitter and the intensity of the reception signal.
