To provide a positioning method of a panel member capable of positioning a panel member having butting ridge parts formed in two directions at a predetermined butting position with high accuracy.
A panel member 2 having a first ridge part 2a and a second ridge part 2b formed in two different directions are arranged on a working face 11 having first and second reference guides 12a-12c so that the first ridge part 2a and the second ridge part 2b are directed to the first reference guides 12b, 12c and the second reference guide 12a, respectively. Thereafter, the panel member 2 is pressed against the first reference guides 12b, 12c to position the first ridge part 2a at the first reference guides 12b, 12c. After the positioning, the pressing force of the panel member 2 is reduced to a level at which the movement of the panel member 2 is not affected. The panel member 2 is pressed against the second reference guide 12a, and the second ridge part 2b is positioned to the second reference guide 12a to position the two directions of the panel member 2 at predetermined butting positions.
