Title:
POSITIONING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008197114
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a real-time clock for a GPS receiver for initializing a navigation satellite receiver at a higher speed by recording the time after a power-down.

The navigation satellite receiver is provided with a real-time clock capable of serving as a slave with respect to the high-accuracy time base of a GPS system. At this time, the correction amount and operating temperatures are observed. It is assumed that the operating temperatures affect the frequency error the most, when the real-time clock cannot become slave to the time base of GPS later. Even during powered-down state of the receiver, the real-time clock is held in an energized state. Temperature correction is performed on a free-running frequency. At power-up of the receiver the next time, it is possible to instantaneously obtain a time of accuracy with an error of 1 millisecond or shorter per one day so as to be used in the initialization processing of other receivers.
