Abstract:
To provide a design and a synthesis of a novel positively-charged prodrug of a retinoid of a general formula (31)' structure 31' or a retinoid-like compound.SOLUTION: Positively charged amino groups of these prodrugs not only remarkably increase solubility of a drug in water but also couple with negative charge in a phosphate head part group of a film. The coupling disturbs slightly the film and can generate a space for a lipophilic part of the prodrug. When the film molecule moves, a little "crack" is generated in the film for coupling of the prodrug. Thereby, the prodrug is inserted into the film. The prodrug may be medically used to remedy a state remedial with the retinoid or retinoid-like compound in human beings or animals. The prodrug may be percutaneously administered to all kinds of medical remedies and can avoid almost all side-effects of the retinoids or retinoid-like compounds.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
