Title:
POSITIVE ELECTRODE FOR LEAD-ACID BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3624576
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a conductive network of tin dioxide in the active material so as to improve the conductivity of the positive electrode active material, and to restrict the generation of large holes with charging and discharging by adding fibers of lead-tin alloy in the positive electrode active material.
SOLUTION: Lead is melted in the atmospheric air, and tin is thrown into the melted lead, and they are agitated so as to be formed into the solid solution, and held at 350°C. This melted lead is thrown into a fiber forming device, in which a predetermined nozzle is installed, and pressurized for fiber forming, and alloy fiber of lead-60% tin is obtained. At the time of manufacturing a battery using this tin alloy fiber, lead powder is kneaded by a dry method, and the predetermined solution is filled for kneading. Lead-60% tin alloy fiber is added to the kneaded paste for more kneading so as to adjust the lead paste. This lead paste is coated on a grid to be used for a battery, and a positive electrode is formed through the predetermined treatment.
