Abstract:
To provide an ion exchanger having a long filtration life.SOLUTION: In a cross section that passes the center of gravity of an ion exchanger and has a minimum cross sectional area when the ion exchanger is particulate-like or irregular-shape particulate-like, and in a cross section perpendicular to the longer direction when the ion exchanger is fiber-like or sheet-like, the area of the ion exchange layer occupies 30% or more of the total cross sectional area. The ion exchange layer contains nonfreezing water of 50 (wt.%-absolute dry weight base) or more and 100 (wt.%-absolute dry weight base) or less and water of a lowered melting point of 2 (wt.%-absolute dry weight base) or more and 20 (wt.%-absolute dry weight base) or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
