PURPOSE: To obtain a positive-pole plate for a lead storage battery having its excellent volume-efficiency in particular and at the same time to improve the life thereof in use of float and cycle modes by soaking a nonwoven fabric made of glass fiber in the solution of a tin compound, and then baking the nonwoven fiber to continuously deposit a conductive SnO2 film over the surface of the glass fiber.
CONSTITUTION: A continuous nonwoven fabric whose glass fiber is 0.1 to 20 micrometers in diameter and which has a porosity of 80 to 98% is soaked in the solution of a tin compound, and baked to deposit a conductive SnO2 film on the surface of the fabric. The continuous conductive SnO2 film is deposited on the surface of each of glass-fiber simple-bodies forming the fabric and at the mutual contact portion of the glass-fiber simple bodies to make the glass-fiber nonwoven-fabric to which electronic conductivity has been given a current-collecting body, and then the current-collecting body is impregnated with a positive-pole active-material to manufacture a positive-pole plate for a lead storage battery.
