A post-processing device includes: loading means 241a for loading a sheet thereon; abutment means 242a for correcting the sheet in a transport direction; shift transport means 205M for shifting the sheet in a width direction; and width-direction detection means 220 for detecting a position of the sheet in the width direction. If the sheet is shifted by a predetermined amount by the shift transport means, received by a return roller 211, and abutted on the abutment means, a length A is generally equal to a length B, where the length A is a length from a position of a side surface of the sheet in the transport direction to a rear end of the sheet, and the length B is a length from the return roller to the abutment means.
