For performing the binding process at a plurality of positions of the sheet bundle PA by the stapler S1, after the binding action is performed at a first position, the interval between the jogger fences 53a and 53b in the width direction Y of the sheets is opened to be wider than the regulating position by the jogger fence moving mechanism. Then, after the sheet bundle PA is moved to keep closed until having the width of the interval of the regulating position again, the binding action is performed at a second position.
