To properly perform postprocessing without timing the postprocessing to intervals of discharge of forms from an image forming apparatus.
The image forming apparatus 30 outputs a normal form discharge signal to a postprocessor 50 when a form is properly discharged, but outputs an abnormal form discharge signal to the postprocessor 50 when a form can not properly be discharged. Therefore, the postprocessor 50 can recognize that the form is properly discharged when receiving the normal form discharge signal and the image forming apparatus 30 can recognize that the form can not properly be discharged when inputting the abnormal form discharge signal. When the normal form discharge signal is received, designated postprocessing is carried out for the form discharged in timing corresponding to the normal form discharge signal. When the abnormal form discharge signal is received, on the other hand, the postprocessing is not performed and the processing is finished.
