Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition that comprises a paraffin oil excellent in viscosity index improving activity, a low-temperature viscosity characteristic, pour-point depressing activity and shear stability and suitable for an engine oil, a driving system oil, an automatic transmission oil and a hydraulic oil.SOLUTION: A pour-point depressant comprises a (co)polymer (A) that uses a branched alkyl (meth) acrylate (a) containing: 1 or more carbon atom selected from a group comprising α-carbon, β-carbon and γ-carbon to which 1 or 2 as the total of the number of a methyl group and/or an ethyl group is/are bonded; and a 12-18C branched alkyl group, as an essential constituent monomer. There is also provided a lubricant composition containing the pour-point depressant and a base oil.SELECTED DRAWING: None
