Abstract:
PURPOSE: To control the operation of a grinder corresponding to the quantity of coffee beans by providing a means to regulate the quantity of the powder coffee to be stored in a chamber, and a means to detect the presence of the powder coffee. CONSTITUTION: In order to regulate the quantity of the coffee in chambers 2, 3 as required, a device 32 to change the volume of each chamber is arranged rearward of a regulating device, and comprises nuts 29, 30 to operate a threaded rod 31 on which the device 32 is mounted. The device 32 is movable inside the chambers, and comprises a wall of a diaphragm 33, and a device 34 which is substantially a micro-switch is provided on the back of the diaphragm 33. The micro-switch of excellent sensitivity detects the presence of the coffee in each chamber, and when no pressure is applied to not only the diaphragm 33 but also the micro-switch 34, the coffee grinder starts its operation, and each chamber receives the powder coffee. When the coffee is deposited in the chambers, and pressure the to the diaphragm reaches the prescribed value, the micro-switch stops the grinder.
