Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a L-menthol-containing powder which causes no caking in comparison with conventional products, even when it is left for a long period of time, and shows high flowability superior to conventional products.
CONSTITUTION: A surfactant of oil-in-water type is dissolved in a hot water whose temperature is higher than the melting point of L-menthol and silica gel and L-menthol are added thereto. Or L-menthol is previously molten, combined with silica gel and dispersed in hot water. Then, the dispersion is rapidly cooled down by adding ice water into the dispersion, or by pouring the dispersed mixture into ice water to give this L-menthol-containing powder.
