PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating treatment liquid used for producing powder for a magnetic core with which a dust core capable of achieving both specific resistance and magnetic flux at a high dimension can be manufactured.SOLUTION: A coating treatment liquid of the present invention comprises an aqueous solution containing Fe and a metal element (M) generating divalent positive ions, is used for forming a ferrite coating film of a spinel type crystal structure (MFeO) on a surface of a soft magnetic particle with which the aqueous solution is brought into contact, and contains urea. Urea contained in the coating treatment liquid of the present invention is hydrolyzed at a predetermined temperature or above to generate ammonia so that the coating treatment liquid has alkalinity. Thus, by using the coating treatment liquid of the present invention, coating treatment of soft magnetic powder can be performed without the need for preparing both a reaction liquid and a pH adjusting liquid as the conventional ones. Furthermore, by using the coating treatment liquid of the present invention, even in the case of a soft magnetic particle with an irregular shape on which uniform coating using a two-liquid spray method is difficult, a uniform ferrite coating film can be formed on the surface thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
