Title:
POWDER FLOWMETER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3202360
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To separate powders from a solid-gas flow and to measure the separated powders with good responsiveness by using a simple mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: Powders and gas are separated by a separating tube 3 from a solid-gas flow flowing into a hopper 2, and the powders are put in the hopper 2 and the gas is forced to flow into a bypass pipe 11. Upper and lower limit level detectors 16, 17 are mounted inside the hopper 2 and a flow rate controller 15 drives a servo motor 14 to rotate a turbine valve 7 in a measuring chamber 6 so that the level of the powders is within a certain range. When the state of the powders is constant the bulk density of the powders put in the measuring chamber 6 and the turbine chamber 7 becomes constant and then the weight of the powders that matches the number of revolution of the turbine valve 7 can be computed using a powder flow converter 18. The flow of gas from the bypass pipe 11 removes powders attaching to blades 8, thus enhancing the accuracy of constant volume.
